Botolinium Toxin ( Botox ) For Wrinkles
Botulinum toxin is an injected prescription medicine that is used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles, and to get a more refreshed appearance. Botox injections are quick and minimally invasive procedures consisting of a few injections for relaxing lines and wrinkles. Common treatment areas include between brows, forehead lines, crows feet and around the mouth.
Botulinum toxin is injected into facial muscles or treatment areas which blocks nerve impulses in the muscles treated. This reduces muscle activity which cause the formation of wrinkles and fine lines, making the affected skin layers smooth and wrinkle-free.
Anti-wrinkles injectables are mainly used for the face. Forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet lines around the eyes, and the “11 lines” between the eyebrows are the most popular areas however other uses include lifting eyebrows, decreasing the “orange peel” appearance of the chin and lifting the corners of the mouth.
Treatment can also be used to smooth the skin of the neck and décolletage
You can carry on with your day as normal immediately after leaving the clinic, although it’s important to avoid anything strenuous for 24 hours such as going to the gym. Side effects are rare, but occasionally some clients experience bruising, but this usually fades quickly.
Before you leave the clinic at the end of your treatment, we will book you in for a free check-up 2 weeks later, so that we can review the results of your treatment once it has taken full effect. We can also book your next appointment in 3-4 months times to ensure you maintain your new look! Using high SPF sun cream to protect your skin from sun damage can keep your skin looking younger for longer
If they do occur they are;
- Slight bruising from the injection
The effects of Botox are fairly long-lasting (up to 3-4 months), but repeat treatments are required to maintain this. After several injections, the effects last longer and treatments may only need to be performed again once every 6 months.
At Klinik Dr Inder, our doctor will carefully consult you about required treatments and frequency in order to determine the schedule that provides optimum results. We always schedule appointments 2 weeks following the initial treatment to check on your progress or if you require additional treatments.
